It’s a thrill to be seen when you’re doing great work. A MASSIVE thank you to the Waikato Chamber of Commerce who have put us through to the finals of the Community Contribution Award.

Congratulations to all of the finalists across each of the 10 categories. It was a great pleasure hosting all of you at Ninja Valley for the big announcements. Thanks for coming, and I hope you remember us when planning your end of year social club and work parties!

Making a community impact

Community has always been at the centre of Ninja Valley. From Day 1, we’ve donated hundreds  of thousands of dollars worth of Junior Ninja Stars gift cards to schools, charities and sports clubs and bodies across Waikato. We have also hosted several huge open days to charities and raised funds for KidsCan and Variety and much more. That’s why we’re so honoured to make the finals for the Community Contribution Award. 

Ninja Valley isn’t a charity, trust or a not-for-profit. Providing for the community, while a core part of who we are, isn’t our primary purpose. We just want to create opportunities for ninjas of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to play and have fun in the ninja arena. Simply making the finals in this category is massive recognition by our community and we’re super grateful. Thank you.

Why bother with awards?

It’s ok to ask the question, ‘What’s the point of all these business awards?’

Winning the People and Culture Award last year gave everyone in our team a massive boost. You can’t have a great culture without incredible people. We held a social function at Ninja Valley afterwards so every Ninja Crew member could feel like they played a part in winning this award, because the truth is - they DID! It was an incredible morale boost for everyone and proves we’re on the right track.

I was recently down south recruiting for Ninja Valley Christchurch (opening soon). Telling all of the potential Ninja Crew members that we won the People and Culture award proved to them that we’re an awesome employer, that we care about them and that Ninja Valley is an awesome place to work.

Winning the Community Contribution or People’s Choice Award would be recognition by our community that you care about us and what we’re doing. That’s why these awards are incredibly important to us.

We love Waikato

The Waikato Chamber of Commerce Business Awards highlight all of the incredible businesses in our community. Support them where you can, and collectively we can encourage more businesses across Waikato to be better.
