We see hundreds of CVs from teens applying for positions at Ninja Valley, and let’s be honest - they can be a tough read if you haven't had much life or work experience yet. The career landscape is changing rapidly due to AI, automation, and a global marketplace but values, drive, and attitude are more important than ever. Curiosity, reliability, accountability, and a willingness to learn are crucial lifelong habits that drive positive outcomes.

That’s why Ninja Valley Hamilton is thrilled to announce the return of our Ninja Pathways Work Experience Programme for Term 3! (And a huge shoutout to our Christchurch venue, where the programme is now officially underway!).

🛠️ What Will You Learn?

Our programme is structured around the essential pillars of any modern workplace. You'll get hands-on experience and training in:

• Health and Safety: Learn to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring a safe environment for both staff and customers. (Don't worry, the only real danger you'll face is the risk of having too much fun).

• Customer Service: Master the art of excellent communication - a vital skill in any industry. You'll learn to handle any situation with grace, even when someone asks if the foam pit is filled with real marshmallows.

• The Way of the Ninja & Our 6 E's: Embrace our core values: Experience, Energy, Encouragement, Education, Engagement, and Enforcement. Yes, that includes learning the secret ninja handshake... or does it? 😉

• Hygiene and Cleaning: Understand the importance of maintaining a spotless facility. You'll expertly learn to clean a toilet and operate a commercial mop, making you your parents' absolute favourite person.

• Point of Sale & Cash Handling: Money, money, money. Where does it go, and how do we process it securely?

• Barista Skills: Learn to whip up a flawless flat white. Warning: Ninja G will be doing a live taste test! ☕

📋 Programme Details

This is a 7-week programme starting at the beginning of August. You will need to attend 3 weekdays (choose a stream below) and 3 weekend days.

Step 1: Choose Your Weekday Stream

• Stream 1: August 5, 12, and 19 (4:00 PM – 6:30 PM)

• Stream 2: August 6, 13, and 20 (4:00 PM – 6:30 PM)

Step 2: Weekend Commitment

You will be assigned one 2-hour shift on each of the following weekends:

• August 29 or 30

• September 5 or 6

• September 12 or 13

Note: Your shift will fall between 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM on Saturdays, or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM on Sundays.

Mentorship: You’ll be trained and mentored by Ninja Valley managers and buddied up with our crew, giving you a structured, dynamic glimpse into your future career. (Note: Trainees will not be left to work completely alone).

This programme provides the early building blocks for youth career paths, while also giving our own senior crew the opportunity to develop leadership and mentoring capabilities for their own futures.
